Company History
Industrial Technical Services was founded by Spencer Tyson in Savannah, GA in 1994. The company began in 1981 as an electrical, instrumentation and controls contractor, and in 1994 expanded to offer the variety of services we provide today. We saw a need in our industry for a contractor that can provide electrical, mechanical, and civil construction in-house and our clients have responded in agreement.
While ITS has grown, so has our customer base, to include pulp/paper, chemical, petroleum, manufacturing, food & beverage, bulk-handling, and distribution companies. As a testament to the company’s growth, our founding team of six has grown to employ an average of 110 tradesmen and women. As a family-owned business, we pride ourselves on treating our employees like family and we know they’re the reason for our success. Many of our team members are long-term employees and some have been with the company for over 20 years. We hope that’s something that never changes.
